Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains Review - 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan we have our Glacier Chain Snow Chains, part number PWPLC1142. The square chain gives you plenty of grip in the snow because it's got that nice sharp edge to it. Now before we put these on we want to spread it out, make sure we don't have it kinked up, or anything. Like I have over here, we just slide it up and over our tire. We want to make sure that this chain and the opposite chain is about evenly spaced, so on this one it sits about middle of the sidewall right here. On this end we have one side with a hook, and one side with our tensioner. We want to make sure that the tensioner is on the outside of the tire so we can tighten that after we have it put in place. Also, we have our cross chains here. We have this hook that we want to make sure the smooth side is towards the tire. That way these don't dig into our tire and destroy the sidewall. You get these hooked on here. more

Today, on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we have our Titan Chain, Titan Diamond Passenger Snow Chains, part number TC1555. We have this spread out on the floor which is what you want to do every time you pull these out. Make sure there's no kinks in it. Make sure you can look at all your links, and there's no cracks or anything. These are nice, because it's square linked chain, so you get more traction because of that. All right, first off, it's a good idea to go ahead and do a test that with your snow chains to be familiar with them before you actually need them. Like what we're doing here. Today in our 1007 dodge grand caravan, we're going to review and install. The glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW-1038 on tires size P-21565R16. Here's what our cable chains are going to look like once their installed. The cross chain is a low profile design with the hardened steel rollers to break through that snow, sleet, and ice buildup on the road. Its got a low profile design which makes it good for narrow wheel well clearances but also for traveling on highway use. The install is relatively easy and tool free, however it is recommended to go ahead and do it a couple of times in a controlled environment, vs on the roadside in inclement weather. more

Today, on our 2009 Dodge Ram 1500, we'll be installing and taking a look at the Titan Chain tire chains, part number TC2828CAM. As you can see, here's what our Titan tire chain looks like installed on our truck. It's a nice sturdy chain construction, our quick cam tensioner here. It comes with a tool, so once you get your tire chain installed, just put that in there and twist it. It gives you added tension on your tire chain to keep it from slipping around your tire. The V bars on top give you superior traction in the ice and deep snow. Nice tight fit around the tire and it is completely adjustable. more

Glacier V-Bar Snow Tire Chains Review - 2003 Dodge Ram- Video
Today on our 2003 Dodge Ram pickup, we'll be installing the Glacier V-Bar Snow Tire Chain with Cam Tensioners, part number PWH2828SC. With the twist link cross chain design, these heavy-duty snow chains are outfitted with V-bar studs to bite into ice for superior traction on frozen roads. Now with our tire chain laid out, we'll go over a few of the features. Here on one end, we're going to have our hook end, simple hook on the inside, and a lever hook out outside that the open link will go through and will come back around and hook into the outer chain. Then as it comes here to the outside chain, we're going to make sure we have the smooth side against the sidewall and the hook side facing out so that we don't damage the tire. Additionally, the built-in cam tighteners make fitting and tightening the chains to your tire quick and easy. On the other end of our tire chain, we just have the simple open links for adjustment for different tire size and wheel combinations. We're now ready to go ahead and install our tire chain. I'll grab the inside chain and lay it up on over the tire. As we lay it over the tire, we want to keep the inside chain and outside chain even along the sidewall. Then we'll bring the bottom of the chain down and around the tire. Now we'll move to the inside of the tire, where we'll take the open links and put them through the simple hook. more

All right. Today, in this 2009 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 Series Quad Cab, we're going to install Part# PW3029C, this is a Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains. For reference, we'll work on a tire size today of P275 by 60R20. First off, you will make sure that the hooks on the crossbars here, the hook goes up and away from the tire. Also there's a little flag on the side here that tells you the tire rotation which way you decided 00:00:36 to go. Let's go ahead and take our chain and go ahead and lay it on across top our tire, make sure it's even from left to right. I like to go ahead and take them, the leading edge and tuck it on the tire as far as possible, and take the other half, pull it down, make sure you get as much a slack out as possible, and then we'll drive forward just a little bit where it makes it easier to make a connection point on the ends of the cables on this side of the tire. We will make our connection point first on the inside edge. more

Today on a 2009 Dodge Ram pickup 1500 series quad cab, we're going to install part number TC2228SHD. This is a titan chain heavy duty alloy snow tire chains with square links. All right, before we put on our snow chain, we'll go ahead and lay it out. A couple of things to look for is that we make sure these hooks on the very end of the crossbars are facing away from the tire. You want this part touching the tire. The tensioner and the latch need to be on the outside edge of the tire. Typically, we're going to start off with this going toward the front of the truck. For reference, we're working with a tire size today of P275 x 60R20. Let's go ahead and put it on our tire now. more

Before we get started, we'll lay the chain out flat and make sure there's no kinks, and determine our anchoring points. Up at the top of the chain are our keyhole anchor points. This is where we're going to slide our various stops in to secure the chains around the tire. There's also a pair of clips here, one on either side, that we'll use to secure the access to the cable end. There are hooks that connect the cross pieces of the chain to our cable all the way down. They're bent around the cable and we need to make sure that the sharp edge faces away from the tire and that the smooth edge here on the inside is what makes the contact with the tire. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Durango with tire size 265/60/R18s well be test fitting the Thule tire chains, part number TH2004705265, Well begin our test fit by sliding the chains over our tire, making sure that the chains are centered with the tire tread. After we make sure that the chains are draped and centered on the tire well connect the side chained together here on the outside at the 12 oclock position. Well connect the red hook to the red chain link on the other side. Well then make sure that our chains are centered with the tire tread and allow them to move around the tire. Now here at the six oclock position well take the side chain andn our red tension holding device, slide the chain through the holding device and pull it tight. After weve pulled it tight well grab the red hook here at the chain tensioning device and bring it down and hook it into the side chain access that we just ran through the holding device. more

Thule CS10 Snow Tire Chains Review - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, well be test fitting the Thule Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains, part number TH00204102 on 215/65-16 tires. This vehicle is front wheel drive, so well go ahead and put the tire chains on the front tires. To begin our test fit, we will first lay the chains out on the ground to get out any tangles or kinks. Well now take the tire chains with the yellow cord facing the right and wrap it around the backside of the tire, bring it up around the tire and hook the yellow end to the blue end. Once you get the tire chains around the tire, making sure that the hooks are facing outward so they dont puncture the tire, you can take the red clip and the red hook and hook them together. Now that the red hook and the red clips are secured, you can take the silver cord, wrap it through the ratcheting hook and secure it with the self-tensioning cord. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today were testing the fit of the Glacier snow chains, part number PW2016C. Were going to apply them on tire size 21565 16 on a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. Since this is a front-wheel drive vehicle we are applying the snow chains to the front wheels of the vehicle. For our demonstration, were going to apply the chain to the passenger side tire. As always, be sure to check your vehicles owners manual to insure that these snow change will in fact fit your vehicle. First we lay the chain our flat on the ground. more

Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains Review - 2009 Dodge Journey- Video
Today on our 2009 Dodge Journey with tire size P225/65/R17. Well be installing glacier chains, square lengths, no chains part number PWPLC1142. To install these chains well need to make that we put them on correctly. On one side of the chain there is a simple hook. This is to be mounted on the inside of the tire. On the other side of the chain is a lever fastener to be mounted on the outside of the tire. more
